Ok, now I have another sugestion. Why isnt it ever dark in the game? Like night time. It should be customized for what ever timezone your in to be dark when its dark and light when its day and stuff. It would give it a very realistic look. I like how it is light now but I really would like to see a night time added to the game.
Once the new feature is added, only one time will the player at the login screen have to specify their time zone.(In both Europe and America) It then saves your timezone in your account. Then when they play, the game will corospond with night and day.
I think that it would be a very nice feature. What do you guys think? Thanks.

while the idea makes the game more alive, it's also a horrible idea :D
imagine having to play in the dark for 8 hours straight? you'd go nuts, and probably blind :D
also, most people play exclusively at night, which means it will _always_ be night in the game for them.
if day and night should be in, they should make 1 hour = 2 days. this means 15 minutes of darkness, which most people can stomach, and would still make the game feel like time changes.
i don't think it'll happen though, heh. it's such a fundamental feature, that you either have it or not when the game comes out :)
In some missions, like Riverside Province, it is night.

I actually like the idea, I'm tired of it always being so bright :P

i think its a really cool idea, but it would be hard to implement. it couldnt really go by time zones becuase when you are with a party, and have your own instance, you might have party members from different time zones.
it would be cool to have certain creatures come out in the day and night, and make skills that work only at night or something. but that would take lots of time to create. id rather they work on chapter 2 :)
its night in droknars forge

I do like the day/night setup, with night you could do more undead and so on. As for how implemented it would have to be gamewide and my guess would be 2hrs = a day or something

It would display different on everyones screen. If you have a person playing from the central timezone and your in pacific, it would display different on each players screen. Would be a great feature.
I see that you said it was dark in a area of GuildWars. The thing is though.........thats only one part of the whole world. It needs to be light and day in Ascalon, other towns, and all areas of the map.(Except when the game creators have a exception in the story. Ex. Always dark in one area.)

hmm i guess it could be possible if everything was exactly the same except each person would have a different time variable. that variable would determine what textures (night or day) would be displayed to that user. you wouldnt be able to do the different night/day monsters.
i like the idea of game wide, it cycles from night to day every couple of hours.

If you like this idea, try to get all your freinds, family, etc. to come to this site and vote on it having night and day. We need alot of votes to make this work. Thanks again.
The monster thing would be a Ok idea. But ya, it wouldnt work. What if someone just played during the day because they work at night... They wouldnt beable to see the night monsters and they would miss out on the game. So I think that it should still be night and day but not have the monster thing.

Ok, new idea... Instead of making it time zones, everyone would be on a night and day interval timer. Every hour, it would be light. Then the hour after that, it would be dark. Etc,etc, etc. So then the monsters that you want to come out at night and stuff would beable to work. Everyone would be in the light and day at the same time. This would also help it be alot easier for devleopers of the game to make this feature happen. Tell me what you guys think of this idea instead of the time zone one.
(It is the same idea but taking out the timezone thing)

If a night/day feature was added I wouldn't really mind, but for people who aren't crazy about playing in darkness (like myself) they'd better add a torch or player light ala Dark Age of Camelot or Star Wars Galaxies.

it would be really graphic awesome if they made the night then when a elementalist would cast fire storm it would light up. Think about what they can do with graphics now if they added=awesome graphics

I know... the moonlight on the metal. That would be great. It would make it more real-life. Sorta like Everquest.
Releastic features make a game great. If this feature is added, it truley would be the next future game in the MMORPG category.(GuildWars is not a MMORPG)
Like I said, get your friends and family to vote yes for this idea if you like it. We need alot of votes to make this happen.

If you want me to be honest, I could live with out night and day and all that crap, what I feel is a true necessity would be a Gamma Control Slider, I mean lets face it some people have the gaming machines from hell but are stuck on some old shitty moniter, with the brightness already cranked. To be honest what real game doesnt come with video controls to adjust the brightness, the gamma, the overall quality of stuff. Really it seems kind of retarded, it was in the alpha, beta, and demo versions of the game why is it absent now?

Good idea aslong as it effects the hole game as in like timezones dont matter. i think it would suk if they made diffrent things come out at night and only one person gets to see them in the party. Just aint got no since to me but i like the idea
