You gain faction through playing the arenas, rated GvG, and playing the Tombs. Each kill on someone without a death penalty yeilds faction. Read all about faction right here (http://www.gwonline.net/page.php?p=156)

The boon of having a pvp character is being able to use skills, runes, & weapon upgrades unlocked on ANY of your roleplay characters on a pvp character.
Some people now are to the point when their roleplay characters are better equipped than a pvp character, so they use them instead.

thats how i am i have most of the mods you spoke of and i think it useless to have one unless you are a new player in the game

Both PvE and PvP characters are max lvl at 20. PvE characters get those extra 30 attribut points from those 2 missions. do PvP characters get those as well?

Yes, they do get the 30 attribute points.
Many people, and some who have been playing the game for quite some time, use PvP characters due to the reasons above. If I unlocked a bunch of upgrades and runes on a warrior that were only useful to a monk they would normally be useless, the beauty of that system is if I get the urge to play a monk he'll have access to all of those runes and upgrades and come in at a more powerful level than any premade class or even some roleplay characters. It was a smart decision on arena nets part to have a system in place like that IMO.
