I have an alliance lock and for anyone whos played WoW you know that is one of the most gimped classes ever. Just wondering how this game is compared to WoW (pvp, class uniqueness, and overall fun). Thinking about making the jump.

I highly suggest you give it a try.

I also play WoW, and I would suggest picking up Guild Wars.
I mostly got it to add to my repertoire of MMORPGs, plus the lack of a monthly fee would make me feel dumb not to get it.

As for the gimped-ness of Warlock, it might just be your playstyle that makes it feel gimped; I would advise trying out the other classes to find out which one suits you the best. I play a hunter as my main, since i make a ranger-esque character my main in every MMORPG i play. Mage was enjoyable, if difficult to solo, and i hear rogue is very fun, but when i played one, it made me extremely bored. Just test out the classes, there is usually at least one class for each person, perhaps you just chose the wrong one.

Its all about how you feel and what your style is..

Me.. I was a highly addicted player of daoc for nearly 4 years and loved it to death.. then went and bought WoW.. played it mabey... 2 months and got a 50 shaman.. and then left.. Its a great game- many love it- and I give credit to Blizzard for doing a great job. It just didn't stick with me- I didn't like another mass level grind, I didn't like the absolutely huge number of repetitive quests, and for some reason I just didn't like the graphics... I guess the cartoon style just got to me...

I would highly suggest picking up Guild Wars- its a great invewstment- GW was a game I originaly thought I would preorder for something fun to do when I was board one weekend... but didn't expect much more... well this has become the next game I'm addicted to.. the level grind is simple yet exciting, the pve is great group-wise and solo is great (luv henchmen :P ) the pvp is AMAZING... way more advanced than WoW in my opinion, and the graphics are STUNNING... Not one doubt to these graphics at all... I drool over them.

Also, Classes in Guild Wars are, in my opinion, much much much more versatile than WoW simply because in each class itself there a a ton of completely different characters you could make... for example a trapping ranger, a sniper ranger, an interruption ranger, a mage-ranger with higher armor, etc etc for any other class.. plus the addition of a secondary class expands your variation even further... whereas in WoW you just go out and buy every skill you can afford... and everyone is just like the next person except for minor talent point changes...

There are tons more reasons I could name off, but to cut it short since I'm eager to get ingame, the game as a whole draws me in much more because I feel when I play I'm becoming involved with the whole world as my gaming community rather than a small thousand people on one server... In Guild wars I can interact with hundreds of thousands of people all at once, including people that don't even speak the same language as me.. PvP even has global effects ingame, such as real-world areas like korea, america, and Europe can gain the in-game God's favor by winning grand and challenging battles in PvP.

^^I realise I probably went a little overboard on that explanation.. I needed to let it out... If you want a short answer, PvE is exciting, graphics are stunning, PvP is amazing, and for classes... all classes are extremely unique and balanced within themselves with hundreds of different class options to be made from just the few base classes^^
