Suggestion to make trading safer

Yo people, i keep reading in the forums about how people keep being ripped off at trades by our not so upstanding co-players.
In the past i used to play at tekst-only mmorg`s and one off those had this very handy "record" function. If you were harassed at playing you could give the record command.
Every action for a period of time was then recorded. With this recording the dungeon master had proof in the dispute that could arise following this "unallowed" behaviour.

The proposal for GW is a possibility to record every transaction with a another player. Every recording could get number so people will be able to pinpoint their transaction in case of a dispute.
The retention of the recordings will be off course short (storage capacity), so plaintiffs will need to take immediate action after a rip-off (f.e. mailing the recording number and the complaint at the people off GW). I also believe that only the existence of such a function could work deterrent.

I heard about recording and all that stuff awhile ago, also in other games. Recording the person right there could but may not help you. I other games people would record guys hacking and siad they would send it in and get that person banned from the game but he was never banned :(. Like even when we start up the game and it has that warning about not to download that patch or you might get hacked it is your choice to get it or not. So if you do get riped off it was your choice to trading with them.....

If they said somthing stupid so they get some of your money first and they run away with it you should you been smarter and think of away to get what you want and he can get what he wants. If the person says if you dont do this, and he wont trade with you, well so be it and dont trade.. You will find deals like that later on... Just be smart and think smart people :D

you just have to find something to complain about.
Just appreciate the game they have made for us.

GW is a game, and isnt free too play, and like any game, its made too entertain the player.. And anything that reduces the entertainment the player is receiving should be removed from the game, right? And in this kind of game, scammers reduce the entertainment of the players who get scammed, and hence, should be removed.. its as simple as that...

I agree with Avenger. A gamer should be protected while executing mundane actions in the gameworld and should not worry off being ripped off at simple things as trading. In other words: simple and easy things should be easy, simple and safe to do. Game creators must see to this.

GW is by the way a magnificent game!!

If you look at this game it is more like real life but w/o the powers and monsters. We have weapons, well some of us, and have armor...our cloth or with some people yeah real armor :D lol. We have money and a guild is like a group of friends, hopefully you guys have friends... There are scammers in the game and in real life. If you hear about the scams that happen in the games right? Ok, for the people who have not I will give you an ex.

A guy is saying I run you to this places for 1,000 gp. But you have to pay half now and half later... so the guy gets 6 people to do this and while he says he is getting rdy to go he is adding your names to the list so you cant talk to him and than he leaves.. not much money 500 gp but people thats pretty good money...wouldn't you think..2,500.

In the game only get runners who do free.. if you can find them and pay when you get there.

In real life would you trust a person takeing half your money? 500? You never meet the guy and know nothing about him but what he tells you. Most people in real life would not just hand over money like that unless they get somthing in return right there.

i think introducing record would not solve the problem. who is going to sit around and moderate the millions of records every day? i think the system they have now i fine. you just gotta keep your wits about you. the only times i have gotten ripped off is becuase i didnt double check the items/amounts the other person was trading. the GW team isnt obligated to protect us from our own stupidity :D

ugh 6x500=3000 not 2500 lol sry if i sound like your mom. anyways the scam also works the other way around the person says i dont trust u ill pay u when we get there they can step right thru the portal and leave bye bye

Just watch what your doing.. Running people can make lots of money but also waste your time.
