This wouldn't really add more lag to players who have this problem.

I think Guild Wars towns could be more realistic if we could see more NPCs walking around doing their work in towns.

Sometimes when im in ascalon, and there is only those Gate Guards and the NPCs selling something or offering quests, it feels like you are in a town no one lives in but the adventurers like you. Like a town that is only used by adventurers and NPCs selling something or needing something. If i could see one Ascalon citizen like writting a book it would add such a realistic touch to the game and we would "see" the Ascalon Kingdom better.

What do you think? I know that if all the games suddenly became totally realistic it would make them all imbalanced (hehe you wouldn't be able to carry 5 hammers and tons of other itens on your back and still kick some monsters) but i don't think this would change anything in terms of game balance.

i agree. we call them "towns" but none of them actually look like towns. i would like to see one town look more like ascalon settlement, with houses and alley's. this wouldnt be practical for all towns though, becuase it is more practical for gameplay to have lots of open areas in the towns.

Maybe it would be practical for the number of citizens to be linked to the adventurers present - so if there only a few players there are many citizens, but when the district is full of players there are no citizens to get in the way.

If you could walk through the npc's like the other players you wouldn't even have the problem of over-crowdedness (new word) and it wouldn't make a difference. Of course then we'd need some more ambient voices shouting out repetitive things, but they can be humourus too.

i guess if u like decaration they could put citizens in. but there would be no point except if they were linked to quests. but thats just my opinion

Game atmosphere, not decoration…and yes I do like that. It's why I play RPG's and strategy, even the MMO types.

It's like why they put all the effort into the waterfalls and floating castle and such, pretty tough to get quests from 'em, but they look and make the game cool.

Yeah having real towns and not ghost towns would add a ton to the game. And I would like to see more people outside the cities getting chopped up or hideing, like a real town would be doing.

People outside towns getting the crap beaten out of them is stupid i think (though i would like to see it).

The most realist town I would say would be Ascalon Settlement or Pre-Searing in general, there is always someone walking around (even in the Lakeside Country)....It just adds to the overall atomsphere
