My main pve character is a mesmer, and I love it, but I hated how frail I was in PvP, so I made this build. I am still expiermenting with the skills, espically which warrior weapon to use and which skills to go with it. Any suggestions and comments are welcome, thanks.

Phantom Axe Murderer

10 Illusion Magic
11 Strength
10 Axe Mastery

Penitrating Blow
Exicutioner's Strike
Disrupting Chop
Illusionary Weapon
Berserker Stance
Conjure Phantasm
Endure Pain
Resurrection Signet

Basicly, I enter melee with the target, and throw on berserker's stance for fast adrenaline and damage. After it ends, I unleash penitrating blow and exicutioners strike on the enemy, and perhaps a conjure phantasm. I try to make sure I always have enough for disrupting chop incase they try something like pacifism or spirit of failure. If they use something that allows them to evade/block/whatever, I throw on illusionary weapon and maybe a conjure phantasm. If I get low on life, I use endure pain, and I assume res sig explains itself.

Main problems-
No good way to heal, endure pain is very temporary(considering tactings instead of strength)
No speed boost to chase down runners(considering imagined burden or sprint, and maybe bull's strike)
Low mana sometimes means I cant use endure pain or illusionary weapon when it really counts(considering chakram instead of shield)

Tips: Illusion on weakness may help heal, put on you at beggining and you wil lself heal back to full when start fighting. That is usefull in random arena where this isnt alot on enchantment removal.
Second make sure you don't try and do any axe skills ir berserker stance when have IW on, you wont gain adrenaline and the skills won't have any effect.

Also some runes may help divide the attributes better, maybe fit some into tactics for a healing sig.

i have a w/me but i havnt gotten all the skills yet, or played much in the high lvl arena. when i played in yaks bend this is what i used:

attributes: i cant remember the exact number, but i had most in axe mastery, lots in strength, and the rest in domination magic.

skill:
penetrating blow
executioners strike
dismember
wild blow
for great justice
sprint
hex breaker
back fire/empathy
rez sig

even though you can get some better skills later, i believe that my strategy behind it works.

-basically first 4 skills are axe skills that use adrenaline. pick axe skills that use adrenaline so you can save your energy for mes spells
-for great justice increases your adrenaline gain
-sprint, for catching run aways
-hex breaker-this is a long duration stance, with only 5 energy cost and no recharge or cast time. you can cast it while running. it can be used to get the +15% while in stance on a weapon with that mod. you can get an axe with +15% while in stance in the desert. so this stance is basically a +15% dmg all the time skill, with the added benefit of providing protection against hexes.
-back fire to kill casters, empath to kill warriors/rangers. your choice
-rez, only really need this for random arena

another build i experimented with is the same, but using illusion magic:

-attributes in axe, strength, illusion.

skills:
-4 adrenaline axe skills
-sprint
-rez
-imagined burden/conjure phantasm
-illusioned weakness

-use either imagined burden or conjure phantasm to kill run aways. i found phantasm to be more fun
-cast illusionary weakness at the very start of the battle. you will gain your 50..202 health back before battle, and will have 50..202 health in the bank when your health drops below 25%

i havent gotten far enough to get illusionary weaponry, but using IW and flurry would be deadly. flurry increases your attack speed, and since you are using IW you dont care about the 25% less damage.

Well, I tried Illusion of Weakness, as it does sound perfect for a warrior like me, but there is a bug or something that makes it not as useful as one might expect. From what I can gather from expierince with it and from talking to people, it seems it only works if you take damage that puts you under 25%, but if heal degeneration from bleeding, hexes, posion, disease, ect... it wont activate, even if you take damage after the line is passed by the above mentioned causes. I dont know why it is that way, or if it supposed to be, but I got rid of it from my build after seeing myself die while it was still active.

Yes, illusionary weapon and flurry would be nice, but I would perfer to stick with berserker stance so I can make good use of it when I dont have illusionary weapon on.

I will see if I can put in some tactics for healing signet and possibly something else. Those attributes are without runes or the warrior helmets.
