Helpful info, for Soon players

Greetings fellow travelers,
My name is Germiah Scipio, My brother and I are looking to play Guild Wars because we wanted to play a MMoRPG that doesn't cost per month, that is fantasy based. I have been researching the game for the pass month or so making sure it was a winner, and it looks pretty good.

I would have posted on a larger, general forum, but from pass experience people are rude, a person (or a respectable guild - which is what you seem to be) is not. My brother and I live on the east coast in Georgia. I have not thought of this until now to look for servers that are located on this side of the US (?) What would Those servers be?

I have not talk to my brother about the profession he wishes to be, but I have my eye on Ranger. Is there any helpful tips, hits, and anything that could help us when we do buy the game and play?

Right now I can not think of any more questions, but if the KT would be so kind as to answer these and any others I and my brother may have it would be must appreciated.(?)

all the american servers are, basically, in one place as GW isn't like some FPS's in which players can start their own server. Then there are the international servers (which americans can only access a total of 4 times, period (unless that's been changed))

Yes, get the Prima guide for GW as it will help explain the game in a little more detail and it will also explain Primary/secondary sets ups per profession, just be sure to fully investigate what build you want to go with (unlike me when I first started heh heh) not to mention the cool world map that comes with it, I'm getting mine laminated so I can hang it :D
