Mercenaries/Henchmen

On pages 106-107 of the Guild Wars Instruction Manual that came with the game it made mention that if you are having trouble getting a party, you can hire henchmen. I've been running through the game solo enough to get 1/2 way to being an 8th level character with a 5th level secondary character, and I have YET to see one of these "Henchmen". Can anyone shed some light on this? (Or darkness for those Necromancers out there?)

In any town or outpost, if you press Ctrl and take a look around, you'll see their names in green like 'Alesia Baptiste [Healer]' or 'Stefan Baruh [Fighter]'. I'm not sure about the right names or proffessions, but that's basicaly how you'll find them. Select anyone of those and press the green plus sign in party screen to add him to your party.

P.S. They used to be called Henchmen before release, that's why we still use that name. In the past they had only proffesion descriptions like 'Healer Henchman' or 'Warrior Henchman'. Later on, ANet gave them real names.

They're still called henchmen, they just have a name attached as well. You can get them in most if not all towns and missions. They'll be green dots on the compass.

You cannot get henchies in pre-seared ascalon except in the academy, maybe that is why you havn't seen any of them

Aye, just look for the big red flags near the instances and they will be under them.
