Ive seen so many people with and internet gf on the game its not even funny! i my self have one and we like to play around with the emotes and stuff pretending were making out and having sex  but we were getting sick of using drums on eachother so we thought of a couple of new emotes that would be totally awesome! First there would be kiss and it would be kind of like naming your pet. you would type "/kiss sarah sigh" and you would kiss her. then if the girl was pissed you did that she could slap you silly. more emotes could be like hug and hump.
Post if you like it below or if you dont like i dont really give a dam

Whatever floats our boat... I guess
Also, it's "Damn" not "Dam" like Hover Dam or beaver dam.
Anyway, there's no way the developers would do this. Do you realize how many *children* play this game? The last thing that the parents want is for their kids to watch a couple of stupid kids (or stupid adults for that matter), humpping like bunnies in full virtual reality.
I don't play Guild Wars to "get off" or have an *internet girlfriend*
Jimmeny christmas!
this idea will never fly, I'd bet my life on it. Sorry.

I agree with cjordan on this one. The creators would never let that fly. This is supposed to be a Teen game not a Mature game. In the Game Rating System they do connect Kissing as sexual and will put it in the M rating.

Emotes are ruining whole concept of the game, I think they should remove most of them like most stupid one "dance".
You are in a fantasy world and a damn warrior dancing like John Travolta, this is not a game for my 5 years kid ! (At least I hope so :) he can play latest Wining Eleven in his PS2)
/roar and some other is not so bad when you begin game, after lvl5 almost none of people use emotes.

this is not a game for my 5 years kid .
You're right! It says right on the box it's rated "T" for "TEEN" so if your kid is 5 years old, he shouldn't be playing this game.

why don't we have an emote like "/me"
I thought this was pretty standard chat stuff. Typing:
"/me got his bell rung when he ran up against the Charr."
should result in:
"Jhor Dhan got his bell rung when he ran up against the Charr."
I've tried a few things, and it just looks like they left this sort of emote out. I think we should have it.
What do you guys think?

Thats a standard IRC chat command for an action.
It'd be rather pointless when you consider that all the "emotes" in GW are already actions.
Before you question me on this, be aware that I'm net admin for an IRC server.

I know that Gryphon
It'd be rather pointless when you consider that all the "emotes" in GW are already actions.
Why do you think it would be pointless? I understand that all the emotes are actions... but they *limit* us to just those actions. I want to have any and all actions. I don't need them animated, that would be impossible.
Before you question me on this, be aware that I'm net admin for an IRC server.
Why do you think I would question you? Did I give you some indication that I might?

I do, however, agree that GW might need a new line of emotes. To broaden the range of actions that a said character can performe. They should add emotes such as sleep, dance2 (the only reason for this emote is because I myself think that the Warrior and Elementalist dances are pretty wierd), pray, cry, smile, and others that I myself really can't think of right now.

I admit that the out-of-character emotes ( e.g. dancing ) do irritate me, but I think that functional emotes ( e.g. /afk ) are definitely a positive feature.
I was very impressed when I learned of /kneel actually interacting with the statues, and I would be equally impressed if there were future emote interactions along similar lines.
E.g. A military commander who provides quests or banter when you /salute them.
E.g. Holy statues that provide a temporary bonus ( similar to scrolls ) when you /kneel before them ( or use a new /pray ).
E.g. Martial artists who will duel you if you /bow to them ( ok - getting a little silly now :) ).

Ray of Light.... those are excellent ideas. The out-of-character emotes grate on my nerves too. ugh...
the only /dance emote that makes sence is the monk doing thi-chi... that's pretty cool, but has no affect on the game.

/bow and /salute are available.

/bow and /salute are available, but do they affect the environment or the way that NPCs react to you.
I kind of like that idea. It's not on the top of my wishlist, but it's a cool thought. :)

actually, I've never used them on a NPC heh heh.

I've only used the /kneel on a statue. I like the idea of /afk. That way people would know that you were afk instead of just continuing to talk to you.

Yes but how would /afk be animated? And also, you can set your status to away in the friends menu. then, it will tell others that you may not respond when they whisper you. you also dont show up on any lists such as friends or guild.

I thought it was common knowledge that /afk is already in the game ?
It generally looks the same as /sit, but I have not compared them all.

Here are a few that are in WoW that should be added to Guild Wars...
/blood Blood oozes from your wounds.
/strong You flex at (Target). Oooooh so strong!
/mourn In quiet contemplation, you mourn the death of (Target).
/nosepick You pick your nose and show it to (Target).
/shindig You raise a drink to (Target). Cheers!
theres some more good ones here http://worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/emotes.html;jsessionid=8B356D964599B5C5629748BF8EE5E889.app02
Try these emotes: /catchbreath /flex /ponder /doh /cheer /congrats /boo

I use the /catchbreath after I get a break from constant running and fighting. Like in the Thunderhead Keep mission after i had to run from gate to gate to fight the enemies.

Some of these suggestions are a little out there. XD
But I very much agree that GW needs some new emotes. I thought it had a fair amount, but when my friend showed me the list for WoW...wow. XD I'm not suggesting that GW should keep trying to be WoW, because they're different games and I like that.
However, to me, one of the important things in a MMORPG is interaction between people in towns and such, whether it's actual roleplaying or not. And there aren't a whole lot of emotes to make that sort of thing more fun. Some emotes could be considered out of character for the setting of the game, I guess, but what if your Ranger happens to be kind of a jerk?
I'd like to see more emotes that reflect actual interation. I don't think anything really dirty would be appropriate, but things like /flirt, /kiss(that would be difficult to animate...perhaps blow a kiss?), or simple actions like stretching, cracking knuckles, facial expressions(though these could be tricky), or just anything that allows for the personality of your character or you show through. I like to feel like I'm controlling a tiny person, who can express himself, rather than just a bunch of polygons that I can move around with my mouse and kill other polygons.
