A SHORT TEMPLAR LORE REVIEW [as collected by Mahomet]
-------------------------------------------------------------
The Templars have a good and a bad rap. A short recap would be, the alleged Knights Templar (very very poor warriors of great skill with swords and battle strategy) were recruited into the Crusades as a way to contain the Holy city and Solomon's Temple. Through the years of war and battle, the Templars became the envy and model for clans / regiments to transform from a barbaric society to a more chivalrous harmony.

The Templars are said to have amassed great wealth and were said to be the holders of the great treasures of the world (illusions of care taking of Holy Grail, Divinci's Code, having the Ark of the Covenant). They were well know for the guardian nature of protecting the travels to and from the city and eventually throughout most of southern Europe and upper middle east. Their wealth, their power, their mystic and their numbers became a fearful army by heads of states. Soon a King would hunt down the Templars, make them confess to wrong doings and blasphemy saying they worshiped idols etc. By torture it is said that the Templars confessed, however when released they recanted the confessions.

The legends have it that the Templars moved through Europe and off into the Atlantic eventually with a large fleet sailing toward the new world. Armies of the various Kings sent mercenaries to locate and kill any and all Templars. Hence the "secrete" nature of Templar lore.

Modern adaptations move the Templars into some of the great persons of our modern world. References to the many US presidents who were “Free Masons” are said to be of the direct linage of the Templars. Alchemy, secrete signs / codes, sexual worship and most other non-traditional morally frowned upon scourge that could place upon the Templar’s is as evident in the mysteries and writings about the Templars throughout the years as is the GOOD. For certain, they rose from poverty to riches, they were noble in their own right, they fought hard for the cause, they loved their women, they were chased down and eventually force “underground” – they are a unique mysterious band of brothers – imo!

Yeah...I liked Band of Brothers too! I also have Free Masons in the family, my da and my grandfater. My grandfatther became the Grand Master Lodge No. 22 (George Washington's Lodge) in Alexandria Virginia. Preseidnet Harry Truman is in some pictures with him too. I have Bushrod Washington's wooden gear clock as my grandfather was very close with the Washington [George] sisters who were providing materials for Masonic museum. It got passed to me. So I have a keen interest too in the Templars. At my battle station (my copmputer desk setup) I have a Knights Templar Sword replica hanging on the wall to encourage me in the heat of battle (when Sarra and Nicole have not distracted me).
