What do you think? Should they raise the level cap or keep it at 20.

Higher levels would mean higher level monsters. Which will still be the same amount of difficulty it is now. A level 30 fighting a 38, like it is now, a level 20 fighting a 28.

I think they should raise it to 30 and keep it that way permeanatly.

I would prefer that the level cap stay at the current level, as HPs rise so much faster than damage output an increase would really hurt fixed damage dealers ( Mesmers, Monks, Necromancers ).
10 levels more = +200 HP.
Two or three extra skill levels of Smiting = +5 fixed damage.

I hadn't actually thought of that, when I thought of the level cap staying at 20.

As some of you may know, before getting into Guild Wars, I played a little game called Phantasy Star Online (a.k.a. PSO). One of the major factors that came up for me to stop playing was that in the expansion the developers had doubled the level cap from 100 to 200. For me anyway, when I start hitting in the triple digits & it’s not doing anything to the opponent, it still makes me feel that my character is worthless even if it’s a high output.

In my experience with Guild Wars, I've made enough PvE characters to know that, unless you're rushing through the game, gaining the last 10 levels can be a bit of a pain in the a… uh… err… posterior.

This would only be a minor pain to PvP characters, who would have to most likely restart their PvP character in order to get whatever the new high level equipment would be for the new level cap.

The way that I see it is that ArenaNet had in mind to get back to the grassroots of what RPGs are really about: adventuring. When it comes to age, I’m old enough to know a few things about gaming, but still too young to know about classic D&D. But when I talk to most of the older D&D fans, I will often hear from them how much they hate level grinding, how the level cap in the “good old days” was at 20, & from there you just had fun with the game. After my first time through Guild Wars, I’m feeling compelled to agree with them.

Even after all this discussion, I still think that the level cap should be raised to level 30 and stay that way.
