Sword types and attack speed...

8) Hi, I am usually playing ranger, so I am new to warrior business...

:D for rangers, the attack speed depends greatly on the bow size.
long bow are slow, short bow are fast.

Does this system apply to swords?

Is there any link I can go for more info?

nope, all swords have the same attack speeds, same goes for all of the axes and all of the hammers. Bows are the only weapon class at this point that vary in attack speed depending on the bow class

Axe = 6-28
Sword = 15-22
Hammer = 19-35
Bow = 17-33
Wand = 11-22
Staff = 11-22
Shield = 16 AL
Focus = +12 Energy

1.33 sec. = Axe= 21.05dps
1.33 sec. = Sword=16.54dps
1.75 sec. = Hammer=20dps
1.75 sec. = Staff=12.57dps
1.75 sec. = Wand=12.57 dps
1.8 sec. = Halfmoon/short=18.33dps
2.0 sec. = Flatbow=16.5
2.4 sec. = Longbow=13.75
2.7 sec. = Dead/comp/ivory/recurve=12.22

its a shame bows are the slowest....a rip for rangers if you ask me...

If you really think about it, pulling out an arrow, cautiously setting it on your bow, draw it back, and then fire it. That takes a while and by the time that process is finished, a sword or axe warrior could have made several swings at the enemy.

:roll: When you see how carefully an archer prepare his shot during the olympics, or even slower... compare the meditative shoot of kyudo practicers...
Then you will be in awe at the speed the ranger can shoot :)

And at least, we don't have to buy arrows :(

What sucks the most for rangers is the pet system...

ya i nkow what u mean harbinger cuz im an archer a good 1 to 4 place in the quebec in my catigory and i can shoot pritty fast with quite accuret sots one arrow per 4 secs about

Bow speed may be slow and therefore damage per second might be down, but if you add in the attacks from the pet you do raise DPS a little bit.
