How Do I... Dismiss Pets?

Stupid Question maybe, but how do I get rid of an unwanted pet. The game doesn't tell how so far as I can tell.

ther is a ranger guy, in old ascalon i believe, you talk to him and click the option: "Are you interested in my pet, here?"

There is also on ein post=seared ascalon right outside the gate. They have "tamer" in front of their name

Also, post searing, you can give your "cat" to the master Ranger who is looking for one. I forget his name.

I think the name is master ranger Ivon but I may be confusing him with someone else. He is where the entrence to green hill country used to be by the statue of Balthazar(?).
