I read thru the posts and did not see this, but if it has been posted, sorry! I made a run down to sanctum cay to buy the armor there, and it requires 21 bolts of linen :!: :!: The artisans make it for 5 items and 200gp, the crafters make it for 200gp. I know the price fluctuates, but this is pretty sad. I have a warrior, an elemental and a necro all in the desert and have not had to find this many rare materials for one set of armor :x . I tried to look up how to salvage for this and finally found it posted somewhere. I went to piken for garb, beacons for harnesses, and i think i ended up after filling my inventory and blowing thru two different expert kits, one leather square, and on piece of silk the rest was cloth and tanned hides.
So how the heck do I get this????? Is it supposed to cost so much?? Basically it would cost me nearly 10k for armor to last thru the desert until south shiverpeaks, then I would get Droks. This seems like a huge waste.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Well, there are two other ways to go about getting armor: getting it from the collectors through killing things or by buying armor that doesn't require as many resources.

My first time around was with a Warrior. Since iron is something that is relatively expensive for a new player to use, I just went with collecter's armor, until I could get platemail.

As for my other characters, I had built up such a large supply depot that I was able to craft them basic armor from the smithy & buy the fancy stuff when I get to Droknar's Forge.

You should craft armor sets that use common crafting materials until you get to Droknar's Forge. Many materials, like Linen, are hard to come by and you should save them for your final set of armor.
