How do you get rid of a pet?
I accidently made a wolf my pet.
It wouldn't be bad but he's stuck in the catacombs.

Found out you can go to the tamer to get rid of your pet..
Too late though cause I made my secondary skill an elementalist.

Yeah, having the pet is pretty good. I'm working on a N/R right now as a second build besides my main W/E character. It's pretty cool to have the "cat" as well as some undead attacking an enemy as I sit back and lob my missle attacks, and using my vampiric gaze, and other draining attacks.

BTW, the animals go up in levels, plus the ranger can allocate points to make the damage they do greater as well!

I can't wait to see some of the more powerful critters I can tame!

Do pets still give you 5% Death Penalty when they die? I personally think pets are weak and not worth the time, because I can always rape pets in PvP so fast. They just seem like a waste to me, but I guess you can be good with them. I guess my opinion just says that pets stink.

Ur skills have an 8 second recharge when your pet dies.

Yup, pets no longer give Death Penalty when they die. 8)

Ah, that's cool. I guess pets are a bit better now, but I still don't like them. :) Whenever I have a pet, it distracts me too much to have to keep an eye on my pet and heal him...therefore making me less effective in PvP.

I find that pets can be a cause of my death a lot because of that 8 second recharge on skills.

Someone charmed the bear and brought charm animal as one of there skills? Thats one of the ones i can think of.

thought you couldnt charm a bear in old ascalon, the person would have had to explore to southenr shiverpeaks......

No, you can charm but its a mix of luck + skill to charm it.

In Pre Searing have any of you tried to charm the bunny rabit thats just outside of wizards folly, thats right above devona?
i would love to try, but we're restricted to 4 characters only, and i have already filled those up. we really should have the limit increased, but yeah. back to the bunny...anyone tried?

what skill should animal mastery be if you want to try to tame a bear?

Raven

Your Beast Mastery atty has no bearing on taming the BEAR. You have to hit the bear with an interrupt - as its normal attacks include an interrupt that will upset Charm animal - I hit with Distracting Shot and had no prob taming..............................

Good Luck - Dont forget youll have to go back and level the bear once you have it tamed, and another thing - Pets will gain XP while they are dead.........................

i used no interrupts at all. i just ran out into lonars and tamed the first bear i saw :)

Yeah what i really dislike though, is when that one quest in Post sear in ascalon where that ranger tells u to bring him the cat(first pet), but i already switched to wolf -.- so that sucked..

That pissed me off too! I had a lvl15 Snow Wolf that I captured 'pre-searing'.
I needed the sklls and exp for that quest, so I was forced to give up my wolf and go catpure a low level Melandru and give it to him

I was pissed. Ever since then I quit the pet build, I like my new trap/dmg output build. I think I can solo better.

And a trainer gives u the Charm Animal skill in the north-west corner of the map...thats how he Had it
