View Full Version : Make Celestial Sigils Available as Intended

OK, let me just say at the outset that I'm not trying to start a debate about the merits of PvP people and/or PvE people (I can appreciate both preferences), nor do I particularly want to start a discussion about who should and who should not have a Celestial Sigil.
For me the issue of how you should be able to get a Celestial Sigil seems to have been resolved by the game designers, but is not being realized now for one reason or another. If you talk to the person who sells the islands for guild halls in game he says that Celestial Sigils are awarded to those who are victorious in the Hall of Heroes, BUT he also says that many people don't enjoy fighting other guilds so they can buy a Celestial Sigil from the trader. This is a perfect solution for both sides; PvP guilds get their halls by PvPing for status and PvE guilds get their halls by PvEing for gold.
The problem is that the trader is too frequently out of stock. I suggest that they give the sigil trader an infinite stock of Celestial Sigils and set the price at whatever amount they deem appropriate (exactly like the guild capes).

ummm, if you're a PVE guild why exactly do you need a guild hall anyway??? and the Guild Halls will go down in price eventually because as more and more people hold the Hall of Heroes the more sigils will become available, thus forcing the market to lower the price greatly. So, if you have a sigil you should try to sell it fast while you can, and if you don't have one I just reccomend that you wait a couple of weeks.
But matt, as more and more guilds are created, especially sub guilds, the prices will go up. I feel they should add a very difficult PvE quest that can only be done with 8 highly coordinated ppl. This would make it much better for PvE guilds to get there guild hall.
A guild hall is good for anyguild because it is a great meeting spot or place to go afk.

I have to agree with Spux. My general point is that PvE people should not have ot PvP to get anything and PvP people should not have to PvE to get anything.
Matt, I suppose that by saying "who should and who should not" in my opening I left myself open to your "why would and why would not" comment. Let me clarify my position now: I don't think anyone should be concerned about why another guild wants a guild hall. I don't think anyone should evaluate other guilds and decide whether or not they are worthy or if it's a good decision for them.

i agree with both matt and spux in a way, the price will go up for a while, few months maybe, until the price grows so high and there are so many that people will start selling cheaper, then someone goes cheaper than that, until it totally crashes and theyre hardly worth anything-thats probably how it will stay from then on

jmasters I understand what you're saying, and I agree they should either put sigils at the sigil traders or just get rid of them. I was just asking asking a simple question and did not intend to make it sound offensive, but if I did I apologize. As for your comment, I honestly do not care whether your guild does or does not want a Guild Hall, I just wouldn't expect a PVE guild to want a Guild Hall. I was not evaluating or criticizing your guild.
And Mark to counter your comment almost every 15-20 minutes a new group takes the hall of heroes, and I think that puts more than enough sigils out in the market, and I agree Litebringer except I think much of the Guild Wars economy will crash before long not just the sigils. Already all of the rare crafting materials and many of the runes/ armor upgrades are dropping in price

Hey Matt... it's cool I didn't mean to sound offended.
Regarding the supply of sigils, unfortunately due to the camping of the sigil trader by some clever opportunists and the subsequent hording, I think the supply is poorly suited to letting PvE palyers enjoy the game.
I can understand the PvP crowd's demands for PvE players to "earn" the sigil and frankly I think PvE players would be fine having to "earn" it in a way that didn’t involve other players (i.e. no PvP, no required buying from other players, no competing with other players for a limited supply). I think a tough mission would be good and maybe even a gold requirement to boot. Thoughts?

It's too much for them police internet auction sites to see who is selling what. Plus all they would need to do would be just simply enter different email addresses.
I think it's rather interesting that people would actually pay real money for a gaming item, but that's just me. Part of the fun of the experience for me is trying to find the items myself.
