...will I get more critical hits due to height advantage?

Also, will I be able to shoot farther because I am standing higher (rather than standing lower with less height)?

And will I be able to shoot over more obstacles (due to height advantage) so that my "view of the target isn't obstructed" all the time?

You also have to take into consideration that the shorter your character is there may be a chance that you'll take more hits in your head... and blows to the head do more damage than blows to any other hit on your character... not really sure this is true, but just in case just make all your characters really really tall for now, lol.

Ok, i know a couple of the things you ask. The higher you are the farther you shoot. This makes rangers a little more strategic then some of the other profs. Also, different bows shoot different ways. Some bows have a larger arc which makes the arrow take more time to reach your target. Some bows have longer ranges then others as well. This means that even if you can shoot your arrows farther with one bow, that arrow might hit before an arrow shot by a bow from a clower range that has a higher arc. You might want to check out some sites to look for articles about bows.

Im not sure about the criticle hit question but I am 90% sure that you hit ppl in the head more when you have a higher altitude.

I'm 99% sure that height does not affect where you get it because that would just make everyone make their character the tallest possible.

So, I have a lvl 11 Ranger that is as short as possible (don't ask why). I don't want to have to start all over just to make my guy taller. So, is there anyone that knows the answer to these questions? Is there a way ArenaNet can confirm on this or something?

didnt read the title through and thought you were talking about height on a hill or cliff or such instead of character height. Character height will not affect how far you shoot as far as i know and if it does it is a very minmal difference.

So, is there any way to contact ArenaNet and ask them?

I was in my Guild Hall, and there are ledges with tall gates, and my Ranger is really short so I was wondering if I'd be able to shoot over the gate had I made my Ranger taller. :(

And another question about character height...if I make my guy shorter, will it be harder for foes to target me? That would be cool.

Height has no real effect on targeting and damage, whether it be damage given or damage taken.

I go small unless a warior myself...theory...harder to "see" me hide if caster which I play a lot. If the team is using targeting by keys stroke...size will not matter much...only with visual screen review of game play is size a factor (IMO).

How are you so sure?
