Leechers in coop...
Leechers in alliance battle...
Bad behavior in outpost...
:? These are the kind of abuse one player might cross one day or another...
:D Reporting on fan forum is something. But some player never go or read forums (whether it bore them or they just don't wish to quit GW anytime ;))
:? So I can't stop wondering if a click-once-to-report-abuse in game would make it more efficient...
For example :
During a battle a player leeches. He doesn't move. Just wait for the battle to end so it can gather faction points. That' And s lame. High on the douchometer scale...
Team leader select the players name, click on "report abuse" under the party buttons (kick leave start etc...).
Then the game continue as if nothing happened. But behind the scene, the server keep the report somewhere...
So, you might say "Maybe it's because the team leader doesn't appreciate this guy, for personnal reason, banning him on this sole testimony is falacious and anticonstitutional"
And you would be in your right...
BUT...
In my idea, ArenaNet receive a report about a player only if more than 10 (or more) different persons report this player as abusing.
Suppose, Ray of Light do an Alliance Battle and find a leecher named Leecher Necro. He clicks on the name
Leecher Necro.
It's important to note that the player needs to be in the party to be reported. You can't report just by typing a name.
If after 24-48 hours, it is the only report about this player leeching, then the report is discarded. After all, the guy might have an urgent matter just for this time etc...
But then... suppose White-Hair Mikel do another alliance battle with Leecher Necro and see that Leecher Necro doesn't move, he reports it.
And the same day, Harbinger does a coop with Leecher Necro and see this Leecher Necro waiting indolent that the party finishes the mission while Leecher Necro contemplates his toes. Harbinger reports it.
Server in less than 24hours receive 3 reports about the same player and send an alert mail to ArenaNet staff... And they decide what to do about it...
I think it is an equitable idea... casual players have a way to immediatly report any abuse... players help dev to keep the game clean... And ArenaNet receive far less message in a day by concentrating on usual leechers.
:( But as I know nothing about network tech and infrastructure it might also be impossible to implement...
:( Don't know what people would think of that idea?
EDIT : thinking afterward, I suppose a higher number of "reporter" is better for a equitable and fair system... Because one player can influence 5 buddies to report the same player, but no one can ask 100 persons to invite a guy in a party to report it... (remember, the guy must be IN THE PARTY in order to be reported for abuse, no random name typing is allowed... only clicking on the name in your party...)
EDIT : another thing, report from different people from the same guild count for 1 report... If 10 Knight Templars where to complain about Leecher Necro it would count as one report about the guy... To avoid in guild banning or things like that...
Still trying to find the flaws in my pattern...
