Endangered Species Quest

OK this is only the 3rd day I have been playing GW so please excuse my ignorance!

I have been given the Endangered Species Quest and noticed one of the rewards was Charm Animal, now I have found the cat but how do I get it to follow me? if anyone can help out with what I need and where to get it from, it would be greatly appreciated :D

select the creature and use charm animal. the creature will then begin to attack you but will stop once the charm is complete.

Thanks but where do I get Charm Animal?

It's a reward for the task, but whats the point of the reward if you have to have Charm Animal to do the task? looks like a catch 22 to me :?

I'm not completely positive but i think when you initiate that quest Charm animal should be given to you in order to get your pet and you are rewarded by being able to keep the skill when the quest is complete.

If you already did one of the secondary quests, when asked by the ranger trainer, make sure you choose to replace your other skills with the ranger skills, that might be your problem.

Also, in pre searing you can get a cat and the charm skill by doing a quest for a ranger. If in the course of your journey in GW you get tired of the cat or want to move on to a "better" animal pet, then you can still give your cat for the fulfillment of the quest and get some exp. Otherwise, the animal tamer outside of Ascelon post sear will take an animal off your hands so you can get another one.

I have multiple characters. Both have Ranger secondary classes. One has the stalker cat, and another has a snow wolf I got in the shiverpeak mountains. I like both!

edit**** You need to have the charm skill in a slot to use. If you undo it after getting a pet, then the pet won't be with you until you reinsert the skill into one of the eight slots.

The skill is available from the Sir Bertran (skills) in post searing Ascalon

Now I just want them to add an Elephant that can be ridden, that would be cool, save my legs and be a hell of a tank ;)

I can't get rid of my current pet to complete this quest. What do i do?
Also i can't find the cat where is it?

You need to tame a Melandru's Stalker, and to rid yourself of the current pet, you need to speak to a Tamer, these is one right outside of Ascalon City in Post Searing, but I dont recall seeing one in Pre-Searing
