I have got nightfall, havent had it for long mind u it hasnt been out long lol but it was at least a week before i got it (factions mind u i got on its release date)

I now have heroes and i like them but... they have now made trying to create or find a human group for a quest near impossible

i do like the way you can customise them with a different weapon of your choice or even add runes to their armor but you can't change or dye their armor wich i would like to do

there are many things about them i like its like having customizable pets lol

But i do miss being able to go to a town and say lfg my mission and having fellow players say me i need that quest, and your team forms from there

admitedly it now means i am less likely to do missions with noobs and only have myself to blame for failing but i do miss human groups wich is now getting harder and harder to find

I love the hero system, it does indeed make doing quests alot easier. BUT i do see exactly what you are saying, you dont socialise as much as you would have before. You may miss out on 10-15 morons by having them, BUT, you also lose out on that 1-2 people that you find that are good people that you may recruit or become friends with.

I totally agree. Heroes have made Nightfall a sad and even more pathetic place. No one ever joins groups, obsessed with these walking robots, give them a few skills and it gives people the excuse to ignore everyone and walk around like it's a 1-player game.

I play GW so I can talk to people. If I wanted to play in my own with henches 24/7 I'd pick a game like Baldur's Gate.

On the largest scale, the only people I have ever really enjoyed spending my time in GW with have been guildmates. None of the PuGs have been that great. People do stupid people things, but that's not usually the annoying part. It's waiting forever to assemble a team containing some new arrogant person(s) you've never met before that's so anticlimactic.

Not all groups are bad, but they don't really seem to amount to much as far as relationship goes. At the end of the mission everyone gets what they want and parts ways. I appreciate joint effort for common achievement, and I'm grateful to the groups I have worked with to get through parts of the game; but I am also grateful for the enablement to spend more time gaming and less time dealing with brickwalls (team forming) and drama.

Bottom line, imo, is that guildmates are the answer to this human interaction dilemma. Heroes are a tool, and I think it's pretty cool that people are using it, even though it does bring some new issues.

Ok i am currently a guild of 1 i have tried to spam who wants to join my guild but i get fed up of doing that after 10 seconds i do find it annoying when i walk into a town and read the spam

i have tried to recruit people i have enjoyed playing with but normaly they are already in a guild

true often after a co op mission most of the time u say gg then leave or u say wanna do next mission and it can go on from there

but i like to do co op missions with people especially as half the time when u first do a mission u don't have the foggiest idea what direction to go in and so if someone in ur team has done it u can let the lead and learn from it

i like the hero system i wish i could use more of them at one time rather than just 3, but unless a co op mission in nightfall is really difficult forming a party just doenst happen, and this is a shame

yes the hero system is good, and yes noobs are annoying and yes newbies are stressfull but i dont mind them so much as newbies actually do listen and do learn where as noobs..... but i do like meeting new people on gw and in a mission saying thats a cool weapon where did u get it

ok when i 1st got prophecies and in pre - searing i got the over the wall quest i dint believe for one minute i would get anyone to help me, but i found the game A.I./engine forced players to wrk together and yes u got noobs but in general we all worked together and it was enjoyable if u had a problem just go to a town ask for help and you normaly got wether it be to show you where you needed to go or just to give you the advice you needed, so forming human teams for co op missions just added to my pleasure it was one of the fundamental things that made gw great (that and the no monthly subscription fee)

however these days gw is a completely different type of game and the hero system just highlights that fact

You are definatly correct in my opinion.

I have almost totally gone off GW.

i think a large amount of people are frustrated, and playing solo. but i atribute this to the 2 new classes in each campain. everyoone plays them so every group already has a new class in the first 2-3 pople and no longer want anymore. after the cold sholder my sin got in factions." not another sin.. or the if theres a sin im leaving" mentality,. in nightfall i made the team i want in my heros and just go.

When I first purchased GW and brought it home, I was amazed at the graphics, and I thought it was the coolest thing that those little blue dots in town were actually representing real people. The second character I worked on getting through the game was a ranger. Throughout the game I went with teams, suffering through the waste of precious time with the 15min-1hr waits to form teams combined with stupid quitters. The further I progressed the more I found that rangers were undesireable. It became tougher and tougher to get into a team. At the Iron Mines of Moladune, after waiting painfully to find a team, and very seriously contemplating discarding the game altogether, a final act of desperation and determination led me to just try it with henchmen. To my surprise, I was fully capable of completing the mission. Since then, I've found that while some missions really require a team of people, usually henchmen are more simple, reliable, and just as effective.

Hench and heroes are an effective counter to the anti-character mentalities of the moment. It's also a great counter for those teams that took the time and effort to form, then upon a failure rage quit and disband rather than making a very simple tactical adjustment and going back in. Hench have made it possible for me to get my money's worth out of the game. And they don't get pissed off if you fail, although their antics have irritated me thoroughly on occasion.

But friends are still the best to go through with!

i too have come across similar problems, when i got factions and created an assassin character trying to get into a group was a nightmare, at first i thought it was because it was a new prof and old players just weren't too sure if they my character would be a help or a hindrence

but i soon realised that most of the factions players at that time didnt even own the prophecies campaing and just didnt like assassins

now once apon a time u could go into any coop mission in prophecies and there would be hundreds of ppl forming groups, sure u got quitters and spammers and ppl doing the superman act (rushing in and aggro ing every monster group they can find then wondering y they are dead and start bitching about the monk who is also dead because of how many monsters were aggroed) but all in all it was fairly easy to form a group

now the other day i created a prophecies character and i found many of the co op missions have bairly anyone in them, but imo the co op missions in prophecies have been made easier so i think it is possible to hench most of them

you may have aslo noticed the lack of human monk players, there is a good reason for this being a monk is one of the hardest characters to play as for 2 reasons 1) you have to get used to the fact that you no longer attack the enemy you avoid them like the plague while trying to heal other party members 2) i am not too sure if this is still the case but if a team fails normaly the 1st person to get blamed for the failure is the monk and it is hard to put up with that attitude

so i am not saying that heroes are bad i am just saying they are the reason that now when you go to a co op quest it is harder to form a good human group

persanaly i hated playing monk. my monk is my 2nd oldest car and she still hasnt finished propicies. as for hero monk... well i think there great. they tend to heal faster and better then i use to. but there are some very good monks out there. i was just avrage, and my heros monk better then me. never got good at quicly changing heal targets.

I picked the first answer because yes, generally, I love my heroes. However, a few things about them are a pain.

#1: I've yet to actually group with someone in Nightfall. Heroes are ruining that aspect a bit.

#2: Since it's already at that level, why limit the number of heroes I can bring? My heroes are far superior to any basic henchman.

#3: Having to find weapons for them. Why not just treat their weapons and armor/runes like PvP weapons armor/runes and let them use anything I've unlocked?

Aside from that, they're beautiful, also when playing with half-full groups of people since they can fill niches we can't find anyone for.
