Last I checked this was only available in Elona and Tyria (pictured below). Was there some kind of accident? Or was Cantha simply forgotten about, despite holding their own festivals [counting Day of the Tengu]?

There are some players, few albeit, out there that just have Factions. But would it be fair to exclude them?

Since I couldn’t find a hat crafter in the major cities of Cantha, I’m going to have to agree with you.

I would like to see it as a Guild Hall NPC.

That would be cool, add it as another upgrade you can buy from your Guild Lord. Great idea! :P

Agreed.
That's tenfold better than my own thoughts on it.
They could place it in the Temple of Balthazar but the Guild Hall seems more appropriate.

1) It is not in Cantha so it forces players who only have Factions so buy Prophecies or Nightfall, thus by making a lot of money for game producers. It's called economy.

2) I never understood why people spend so much money on a GH npc when you can literally walk outside and there is one for free.

By that line of thinking, ArenaNet would have kept Halloween & Wintersday Events in the first chapter, so that potential customers would be more interested in Prophecies. Furthermore, they would have made more separate events for Nightfall to entice people to buy that chapter even more as well. After all, I can give a Dragon Mask to one of these crafters to remake for me and that’s exclusive to Cantha. Therefore, this whole notion of pure separation is simply nonsense; though it is perfectly sensible to assume that there is some exclusivity to each chapter.

And the reason someone would spend money on Guild Hall NPCs is the same reason someone would spend their money on 15k armor.

Actually, my GH has all tha amenities and it makes things very convenient. It took me a while to realize the conveniency because I was stubborn, but now I love it.

I do wish Festival Hat Guy could be a GH option. :D

Well not really... I mean when you wear 15K armour everyone knows that you have taken time and effort to gain those. They are special and rare and everyone can see that as soon as they see you. Having a merchant or whatever in a hall some place far away doesn't have the same effect. No one goes around shouting "Look at me I have my own merchant on an uninhabited island that I spent 50K (or however much)on".

15k armor can be had by simply playing the game anymore.

ATM the only ones really tuff are FoW and Vabbian (and that is only for now as it will get much cheaper just like Kurzick and Luxon).

After 3 chapters, FoW still holds its own against all others in terms of sheer cost, and what with solo FoW, solo & 2 man UW nerfed somewhat..

anyway back to topic, I guess GH npcs are convenient, all you gotta do is hit the G key and click on the GH button, voila all your npcs in one place. And no town/outpost/city LAG!!!

thats a big plus point for me ;)

Don't forget about the whole "I will not sell to you, Luxon Pig-Dog" thing in Factions as well. Much easier to map to Guild Hall and do your post mission/farming trading and then map right back.

I didnt enjoy the factions deal with the NPCs at all myself.

Nothing worse than a full inventory and you have your party formed, only to have to disband to visit your guildhall to then sell and reform. That gets real ugly

What was uglier than that now was...

Party leader : we need a shock warrior
You : Ugh.. ( <- Wammo)

*disbands to map travel to a profession changer
