I have heard things about it but not really looked into it past that little vid Wanderer posted. The "true" MMO expierence is usually not my bag so I usually dont investigate them, but if there is more to it than simply MMO I might be interested.

I plan to still play guild wars...as much as I do now. Of course I am playing GW2, that goes without saying. As for KT, at its core The Knights Templar is a group of friends and family, so it's natural that we would follow each other and stick together. So I'd bet on KT being in the Guild Wars Universe for quite some time.
As for the monthly fee, this is the info from the FAQ
1.6 Will there be a subscription fee to play?
Yes, there will be a monthly subscription fee. While the final subscription fee has not been announced, it will likely follow industry standards. The first 30 days of gameplay will come free when you purchase the retail box.

Exactly, need some pvp to keep my busy for.. well a couple years :P
I don't suppose the grind will be so bad, especially if we play on a pvp server, so i can kill poeple as i pve. They said gaining 80 levels will be the same amount as gaining 60 in wow. Of course thats all just.. talk, but we will see.

Well, there is more to MMO PvP than just hitting the lvl for it, there is also attaining the items and all the improvements to the items. Never seen an MMO that wasnt highly item and item bonus based making damn sure you had planty of killing to do not just to level but to gain riches.
Lvl 20 and completing GW (all chapters) is a walk in the park compared to 60 in an MMO......I read a bunch and I have seen nothing to make me feel its any different than others I have seen/played. Hell it took a long time to hit 75 in LII and that was with 5x the exp of the real games servers, i was on a private one wiht upped rates including 10x gold and I was still broke with all the hours i played compared to most. everyone running around with +5+ gear and I only had +3 as I couldnt afford to loose stuff (attempting to go +4 and above had a chance to destroy the item).
Now.....if you guys are aware of stuff like this and how all this is going to work please point it out, the game looks awesome, something I could get into, but if its going to be close to the normal MMO expierence I dont know. I am a "buy it and burn it out" kind of gamer.....play it until I am sick of it and move on.
I looked at those movies, the armor, weapons....all "basic" info, no specifics...
So how long does it take to hit 60 in WoW and attain items to PvP? We talking 40 hours or 200+ or worse? How many hours you play? I do 40-50+ and usually more when i am in an item/lvl based game like DII or LII, I play harder on weekends if you can imagine that.

I'll still be working on Guild Wars little by little. I haven't decided on Age of Conan yet, I won't be getting it right away at least. However I have had my sights on Guild Wars 2 for a while and it shouldn't be too far off as the beta should start later this year.

I played L2 on a private server as well back when Chronicle 2 just came out. It filled in plenty of my gaming time before the release of Guild Wars. My current room mate who actually played on the official servers spent a ridiculous amount of time to get to the top level and craft full Blue Wolf armor and what not. The private servers were more for me because I knew a few guys there and people did stuff together all the time. What made good MMOs for me was what you could do with others. I tried WoW on a private server, just got lost, and uninstalled it the next day.
Age of Conan, graphically looks freakin' great! However gameplay wise, it really seems just like another MMO with a more detailed action-oriented fighting system and whatever else they could add to try and take MMO gaming to the next level. I'm not saying that it's bad, but it depends on what you make of it. If you had to spend your time grinding all the time, then I'd pass. But if there's much more interactive stuff to do with other people, and plenty of stuff to do as a guild then it may be worth the purchase. Unlike what sort of happened with Guild Wars where we'd all pretty much do our own thing with heros or henchmen unless we were GvG'ing. Heros really destroyed the whole idea of partying up with other real online gamers to complete tasks, IMO.

Posted by Hades on the front page of the Lords of the Dead website (http://www.lotd.org/):
"Overall the open beta is going well. People can run the game on single core 2.8 GHZ cpu, 2 gigs of ram, and a GF 6800 series video cards pretty well so long as they run on a realistic resolution. If you have a Core2 Duo or a Quad Core system, you shouldn't have any problems so long as your video card is good and you are running the right drivers."
"Overall AOC is beautiful, and it gives you a level of immersion that has been sorely missing for several years."

Hum, looks pretty over powered or just a very good player vs very poor ones.
Whats the cool and duration on that cloak?
Is there collisions while cloaked?
Whats the down side to cloaking?
I take it from what i saw attacking from behind provides more damage/less D to attack against or the Assasin gets bonuses from behind?

Both, but mostly the latter.
Whats the cool and duration on that cloak?
Everyone can go into Stealth mode, but the Rogue classes (Ranger, Barb, Sin) are better at it. Idk specific durations or any kind of hard data.
Is there collisions while cloaked?
Doesn't appear to be, but idk for sure.
Whats the down side to cloaking?
Besides the fact that attacking breaks Stealth mode, I think you may move a bit slower. Most likely costs Stamina to do it.

Better for anyone to attack from behind, less chance to block or something I think. Again not sure on specifics...

Any character can go into stealth mode. Rogue classes are indeed better at it in such a way that they are not as easily discovered by the "perception" skill (which also every class has) as other classes (I forgot if you actually had to invest in this). Rogue classes also have the highest perception as opposed to having the highest stealth.
Also, I'm pretty sure stealth didn't cost stamina. The only thing was that if you break stealth mode, you could not re-enter stealth mode unless you were out of combat mode (weapons hidden).
Also, attacking from stealth mode (so I've heard) will let you bust out any combo by just clicking the combo skill (so no "hit combo skill- hit directional attack UL, hit directional attack UR --> combo"(for example), but just "click--->combo").
Also attacking from behind is more lethal than from the front, which probbaly has to do with the dynamic shielding in the game.
Basically you have 3 standard shielded areas and starting from neutral position they look like:
. _
( c ) where c is the character, and you have a shielded area at your left, front and right
by pressing CTRL 1+2+3 you can move them around to have more shielding at one side.....for example
( )) or ((( or ))) etc. etc. you get the point
When carrying a shield I think you get some extra shielding which you have to use dynamically.
This is probably why attacking from the back does more dmg.....no shielding there.

That bit about the shielding makes sense now that you pointed it out Moo. Thanks for the clarification!
So there's no energy cost or anything to go into Stealth Mode? What about the duration, how long can it last?
Moo Moo

I only played Assassin for a bit but afaik there is no stamina or energy cost. However, you cant really do anything when you're in stealth rather than just not get detected. If you wanna attack someone you will come out of stealth and you will need to run out of battle to go back into stealth again.
Anyway, for details see Aaron....
