Heres NEcro/Ranger

Dark Pact:Spell Updated 12-26-2004

Deal 10..37 damage to target foe

===============================================

Life Siphon:Hex Spell Updated 12-26-2004

For 12..22 seconds, target foe suffers Health degeneration of 1..3, and you gain Health regeneration of 1..3.

===============================================

Feast of Corruption(e):
Description: Target foe and all adjacent foes are struck for 16+ shadow damage. You steal 8+ health from each struck foe who is suffering from a hex
===============================================

Malaise:
Description: For the next 30 seconds, you gradually lose health and target enemy's energy regeneration is reduced.

===============================================

Shadow Strike:Spell Updated 12-26-2004

Target foe takes 12..41 shadow damage. If that foe's Health is above 50%, you also steal 12..41 Health.
===============================================

Charm Animal:
Description: Attempt to charm target animal into submission. You must have this skill equipped to bring your charmed animal with you into another map
===============================================

Call of Haste:Shout Updated 01-01-2005

For 30 seconds, your animal companions have 25% faster attack speed and move 33% faster than normal.
===============================================

Symbiotic Bond:Stance Updated 01-22-2004

For 120..264 seconds, your animal companion gains +1 Health regeneration, and half of any physical damage dealt to your animal companion is redirected to you.

===============================================

Ok there we go, The plan is:

spamming Malaise on melee group thats bunched up, and then using Feast of Corruption on them. With 3 people in a tight-knit melee group, you gain 102 health and deal 201 damage, with 4 you gain 136 health and deal 268 damage, and with 5 people in a melee group (which is most common) you gain 170 health and deal 335 damage and while i cast all spells for my pet. Then while waiting for recharge ill do some solo damage like shadow strike and dark pact with my pet. Then when other recharged ill do it again.

Heres Necromancer/ Mesmer

Shadow Strike:Spell Updated 12-26-2004

===============================================

Conjure Phantasm:
Description: For the next 2..14 seconds, target enemy loses 5 health each second.

===============================================

Phantom Pain:
Description: For the next 8+ seconds, target foe suffers health degeneration of -3. When Phantom Pain ends, that foes suffers a Deep Wound.

===============================================

Manta of Presistance:
Description: While you maintain this trance, any illusion magic Hex you cast lasts 20..100% longer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the plan:

When fighting like 1vs1 or 1 vs 1 this is what i do, cast Manta of presistance for later use. I start attacking the dude with some damage like dark pact and shadow strike or just plain attacks from my wand ( these are just to lower his health a bit and lower mine too). After a while to mention that my mantra or presistance is still here which makes any illusion magic hex last 20-100% longer, i will cast all my life stealing ones, first phantom pain, , and then conjure phantasm and life siphon. This would work great with my Mantra of presistance excluding life siphon.

Then when fighting more than 3 guys i do this.

Cast my Mantra of persistance for later ( why not? ) . Then spamming Malaise on melee group thats bunched up, and then using Feast of Corruption on them. With 3 people in a tight-knit melee group, you gain 102 health and deal 201 damage, with 4 you gain 136 health and deal 268 damage, and with 5 people in a melee group (which is most common) you gain 170 health and deal 335 damage. Then i start doing some wand damage or dark pact and shadow strike. After this i start using life siphon to get some health back and some mesmer Conjure phantasm and phantom pain. Then repeat procedure.

If you got a better suggestion please post lol....Im only a noob only played beta for 2 hours exactly the april beta.

ur nec/mes looks great because you can throw on a ton of DoT's and also do some direct damage to targets. Looks like a very versitile build.

Problem: You can only have a PET as a Primary Ranger - So on the Nec/Ranger - got to blow those skills off the list or swap the primary to Ranger - edit - Im wrong see below

Nec/MEs - drop malaise got nerfed to end at 0 - so its not near as good as it used to be..... otherwise thats a pretty good build

That's incorrect. You CAN have a pet with Ranger as your secondary profession. You still have access to the Beast Mastery attribute and you can beef up your pet as well as use pet skills.

I have never had an interest in charming pets - partly because of the mis-info i was given - but that being said i dont have any SS of them -
but you can have anything from a Snow wolf to a warthog as a pet - and of course the better pets are in the later levels...............

My main char was a ranger/warrior but then started a necro/ranger and am using this as may main character now.

I find this combination to be very good, currently I've raised my death magic upto level 9 (with scar which gives death+1), beast mastery upto level 4 and blood magic currently on level 3.

With this I have a pet to help fight me, and can then conjure upto about 6 bone horrors that do most of the work for me.

I'm still working on which skills are best to use.
