Vaules in Guild Wars havn't leveled out yet. Many people have too much gold and offer more than what an item is worth, which unfortunately drives up the price for everyone. Basically, you have to remeber that gold in Guild Wars is an imaginary thing, and just make a good deal with someone who needs what you have. As long as both parties are happy, it's usually a fair deal. 8)
