Pyromancers always seem so effective for me in RPG, even more when using Monk as a second profession , if things get too hot
for me the satisfaction of burning a spider alive while using aura of restoration to up my healing skills always brings a smile to my face :D
I'd like to hear from other pyromancers to see what skillz they use to see if i can make my Pyro any better.

with my pyro mancer i use alot of aoe spells but my skills are not the most focused on energy storage such as aura of res. but with mine i use flare fireball(sometimes meteor) fire storm meteor storm and the rest are my secondary profession skills

I have a E/Mo
I use flare as my main attack.. i never use a normal attack with my staff or wand.. I usually get right in the middle of a group with a bunch of my long lasting healing skills( such as healing breeze and mending) and stack AoE skills; which are pheonix, Lava Font and fire storm, which are very effective while using the healing skills and aura of res. too keep me alive

Everyone wants to go X/Mo for rez and its understandable, but if you want one of the most effective all around builds for PvE give this one a whilr some time.
N/E Fire/Death/Reap
Flare/SoF/MShower/Glyph of Lessor/Minion of choice (I like 2 per corpse)/Putrid
Rest of the build is optional, mainly the minions are simply for cheap tanks and energy and it works very well. I usually run around with (2) SoCs as frankly I need no other skills, but you could add in Veretas Sac and build a minion Hoard also, and bring a SoC, or another Nuke, or Necro skill, Hela, Rez Sig...etc
I have quested this game top to bottom with just about everythign and very few things can match this build.

I like the fire stuff, especially meteor storm but fire spells are lame in hell's precipice, everything is fire immune there. I really like the combo of meteor storm and rodgort's invocation (?)(the area effect one, there are two spells with rodgort's in it) most of the time cast those one after the other and most hordes of monsters go down like dominoes. Since a friend gave me the green water staff (flesh something) I have been playing with water spells, the two that cause cold damage and slow down are great and then there's the area blind spell from the water college too. Mr. Lich face doesn't like water or air spells, he takes a ton of damage from them--fire does almost nothing to him.

Just have a ranger with winter and then WHAMO all your skills are ice, its the best way to deal with that little issue

I used one of the most natural choices for Es when playing PvE:
flare, fire storm, fire storm, aura of restoration, ether renewal, ward against melee, gliph of lesser energy/signet of cap and res sig.
Status os main skills:
fire storm: nerfed as monsters flee from AoE
ether renewal: NERFED to hell, useless on Es.
Result: your E is better, no matter what!

I have ele/w and just run with fire spells up to desert. Then I had to get more creative. I use earth spells for protection and enchants, kinetic armor, armor of earth, and fire enchant, with flare, fireball, and aoe of choice, which switches depending on terrain I am fighting in, and ether renewal. With a good prot monk, i end up with eight or so enchant, and use renew with flare to bulk up energy and keep going. I can usually last several long battles just nuke the hell out of everything. Eventually there is some rest to regain energy. I ran this in Elona with a couple of PuG and when they ran into the Minotaur hoards and all died, I was still standing nuking :D Same thing later when we fought forgotten, eventually group died off by aggroing to big of a group, and warrior sat doing nothing (different topic), but when all died, I led some forgotten back to warrior to kill him off, then killed off forgotten. So combo of eath and fire works well for me!!

This here is someone that is using thier brain. I bet I couldnt count on my fingers and toes how many of the "average" pug Ellys actually used defensive skills......they all go for damage.

Have you guys done the new Tombs PvE? Notice how most every group is something liek this
1-2 Warriors
2-3 Monks
Rest Elly Nukes and Spitefull Necros or maybe trappers.
If someone aggros anything but the Warriors people die usually, and nobody has a Ward or SoF or Enfeeble.
Last night some dip kept using Breeze on me! You should of seen the smiles on the monsters faces every time they shattered that for 106 damage!!!
1 Elly with Ward Melee, maybe 1 with Foes, and an Enfeeble on the necro would make it so people didint die....... but nobody brings any of it..

Very good points, i had a group like that where we had a monk with breeze, and then a guy that wanted to bond. i was ready to kick his ass. As a necro i tend to be fully self supported unless the primary target of more than 2 people. I told the bonder to stop doing that crap to me i dont need that easy damage on me.

Yes, very good points on the defense. I'll have to try out an earth defense build and explore those skills more.
Regarding pyromancers builds, my favorite combo is rodgort's invocation followed by fireball. As an Ele/Mes I also add Arcane Echo, or Echo (Elite) for some fun with double meteor showers.
