Question for anybody who likes Rangers

If you could only build one Ranger how would you do it? I find that with my Ranger im changing my skills around a lot. This char is still doing some PvE, im not sure what I will do when I start some GvG. So I guess the question should really ask what do you think would be the ultimate Ranger? :mrgreen:

A ranger skilled in Traps is a very good Ranger in GvG

As for RPG Ranger.. i have no idea.. since i ahve never made one of my own

Ranger IMO is a jack of all trades and should be adjusted to suite all team builds. With Warriors you usually set up for carnage and maybe 1-2 utility skills and create massive damage. With Elems its much the same, but when it comes to the Ranger he can go many ways and can combine many things and to be the best Ranger you can be you need to learn to be effective with all of them.

If you go for pure damage as a Ranger you made a mistake IMO. If you go pure traps I personally feel its a mistake. If you go "pure" anything with a Ranger I think its a mistake as a Ranger can be nasty doing 2-3 different things if he wants to and is played right.

A Ranger can easily trap and play interrupter, or DoT with Poison Arrow, or Deny with Dibilitating or Mess skills and even interrupt if you want. Hell he can even be very powerfull in melee!


Boil it all down........there is no "one ranger build" IMO. It is one of the more diverse characters and he should be ready to change at a moments notice.

So true. It's not uncommon for my friend's ranger(Archer Scott: same guild) to carry the day in the missions. His archer does massive damage and is very hard to kill.
