help on rangers second profession

i am at a loss as to what i should take as second profession for my ranger.

playing PvE and will probably play solo.

any suggestions/comments as to what to take?
also which skills be a good idea to use?



someone also mentioned that nerfing the starting pet in favour of a lower lvl pet such as a wolf etc is better...

The possibilities are endless for good combos with a Ranger primary. All professions have skills that can compliment a Ranger build really well. It's more of what kind of character you want, and what you feel like trying. Trial and error is the best way to learn. You can always switch your secondary professions after you ascend.

i agree with wanderer. the only one that would be less effective i would think is warrior. to me that combo doesnt make much sense. but i have seen a few r/w's out there so maybe im missing something. if you are doing PvE r/mo isnt really that necessary as u usually have a monk to heal you, and smiting doesnt provide as much dmg as other classes. but if you are doing pvp you dont always have a monk to protect you, so it could come in handy. or if you are doing gvg and want to be a supporting monk, usually rangers arnt attacked right away like monks.
