Monk's Essence Bond

Essence Bond (Enchantment Spell) While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target takes physical damage, you gain 1 Energy. Maintaining this Enchantment reduces one point of your Energy regeneration.

This skill uses a pip of energy regen, so I was wondering if this skill is useful. I've heard it can be great when you cast it on enemies and nail them a lot. But I'd like to know your opinion on it.

Since it's an Enchantment, I think the description should probably read "whenever target ALLY takes physical damage," because I think the skill only works on you or your allies.

Ah, really? I've heard that you can cast it on a Charr or something then wack it to death and gain lots of energy. Do you think it's still good only casting it on allies?

Sounds to me a lot like Baltahzaar's spirit.. infact I don't really see a difference besides balthazaars spirit also gives adrenaline...
I plan to try one of them in PvP at some time.. can be great to throw on the person whos getting trained (including yourself) so you can keep your energy constantly up to keep healing. Have not tested to see its true potential as of yet though.
