this may sound lame in away but recently i got cheated by someone who joined my guild and did a raited match and lost on pupose then quit.
i think they need to make it were members cant quit a guild for 2 weeks do to the fact of this going on.
this i think will make them think twice about doing this.
you can either have a contract saying u cant quit for 2 weeks or make it when u quit a guild you cant join another for 2 weeks.
thats not asking to much and i think it would cutt down on the guild hoppers alot to.
i understand that some members dont like a guild that they join so they want to quit, this will allso make them think.

think about what? i have done this. you get in a group and some guy asks you to join their guild. you play with them a bit and see that they arnt jerks. so you give their guild a try. but its not what your looking for so you quit. i dont see anything wrong with that
the only way someone can start a rated mach is if they are an officer. dont make them an officer right away.
if you make it so they cant quit for two weeks then you will have problem members stuck in your guild for two weeks.

thats why i gave that other option for delay on joing another guild meaning thell be guildless and yes i know the officer thing.
the point im trying to bring across is people should be more serious about thinking on who there joining. but i respect you answer :)
Any solution to a problem needs to be designed so that it doesn't affect people who don't do anything wrong.
There's a reason only officers can start a rated match, and that's to prevent unathorized Guild battles. Try to make better use of the system Guild Wars has. Only promote a member to officer after they have been with you 6 months or even a year!

agree 100%, make sure you only make people who you trust and have been with you for a long time officers

is there any harm to be done from guild hopping? if someone is in the process of looking for a guild, it may take them 3 or 4 tries to find a guild thats right for them. i dont think making them wait 2 weeks in between is fair

True there are MANY good reasons someone may "guild hop", but there are some "not so good reasons" too - Smurf Guilds is a good one!

That would be limiting the freedom players have within the game, Its great that someone is trying to find a solution to a growing problem, but this isnt it

i think they could make to where you had to pay a certain amount of money (depending on what guuild leader makes it) to quit a guild like pay 2k to leave

then you would have guild leaders paying bad members to leave
edit: nm im dumb. i supposed guild leaders could still kick people. but then leaders would have a hard time convincing people to join.

well make it to where you could still kick ppl but also have the payment to leave or say u made it 2 k to leave a guild and the member wants to be kicked so he gets out free. the leader could say well pay our guild 1k and ill kick u
